Amiel Bituin

Studying computer engineering at the College of Engineering, Technology and Architecture (CETA), with minors in mechanical engineering, computer science, and mathematics, kept Amiel Bituin busy during his four years at UHart. His academic achievements were recognized by induction into Eta Kappa Nu IEEE Honors Society before graduation, and his hard work paid off when he secured a position at Raytheon Technologies Missile and Defense. He will begin there in the fall.

Bituin focused on technical knowledge and involvement in industry opportunities while in the classroom. He says, “UHart helped me learn technical knowledge that must be known in the field.” He became part of the Assistive Robot Team (ART) led by assistant professor Kiwon Sohn to expand upon and practically apply his learning. He says of that experience, “I joined a wonderful organization that helped me become more confident and social while staying focused on my academics and future career path.”

Amiel also utilized his relationship with professors to contribute to his successes. He states that “professors that I had conversations with helped me figure a path that I wish to strive for and I was able to connect with professors and students that I shared similar interests with. I connected with people that I will share my experiences with past college.”

Outside of his studies, Bituin was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi. “Without this organization, my confidence level and communication skills would not be where they are today,” asserts Amiel. When asked what advice he has for incoming CETA students, he recommends students “stay focused, do well, and most of all, have fun in the process.

UHart helped me learn technical knowledge that must be known in the field.
