Next Stop: NASA's Space Division

Already a few months before graduation, Stephen DeRosa '19 landed his dream job at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. The mechanical engineering major is working on robotic systems to be used in space exploration. Stephen credits the University’s Robotics Club for some of his most valuable experiences at UHart. The club provided him an opportunity to work on multidisciplinary projects and learn skills needed to have a successful career in robotics.

Next Stop: Obama Foundation's Community Leadership Corps

Olaleye Onikuyide '20 is one of 17 students and alumni participating in the Obama Foundation's six-month Community Leadership Corps in Hartford, where he receives in-person training, online coaching, and gets project funding to address opportunities and challenges in Hartford. He recently completed an internship at The Hartford where he assisted strategic claims handlers in investigations, and took part in advanced negotiation training. Last year, he interned with the Hinckley Allen Law Firm.

Next Stop: Aetna's Finance Department

Before graduating in May, Kyra Smolkis '19 secured a position with Aetna's Finance Department, where she interned as a student.

"The faculty's desire to see their students grow is what makes saying goodbye so difficult, but the Barney School has prepared me with the tools to be confident, competent, and connected for many years yet to come!" says Kyra.
