Among the programs recognized were the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program offered by UHart’s College of Education, Nursing, and Health Professions, and the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program offered by the Barney School of Business. Also recognized were ENHP’s Master of Education programs, which are offered in three concentrations, and Barney’s non-MBA graduate programs.
This is the first year the online MEd program has been on the list. The other programs all improved their rankings from last year.
"It's exciting to see two of our master's programs being recognized by U.S.News Best Online Rankings,” says ENHP Dean Cesarina Thompson. “In particular, it's wonderful to see the master's in education being included in the rankings for the first time and for the Master of Science in Nursing to advance in the rankings and earn a spot in the top 100 online programs. The rankings reflect the hard work of our dedicated faculty, staff, and students."
Barney School of Business Dean Aarti Ivanic echoes those sentiments. “Our upward movement in the MBA rankings reflects the dedication of our faculty, students, and alumni to deliver market-relevant programs and to achieve and exceed the highest standards in business education,” Ivanic says.
Programs are ranked according to a number of factors. Chief among them is engagement, which measures the accessibility and responsiveness of instructors and the ease with which students can collaborate with each other. Schools that do well in this area have higher graduation rates, higher retention rates, and smaller class sizes.
Other metrics include faculty credentials and training, services and technologies, and student excellence. Nursing and education programs are also evaluated according to peer assessment, and business programs according to expert opinion.
