2019–20 Recipient of the Marion A. Bills Memorial Scholarship and the Sheila Ward Discretionary Fund
I have always wanted to earn a degree, but was concerned about accumulating student loan debt. I first became aware of scholarships when I was in high school—I had a gym teacher who established a scholarship in memory of his son. His act enabled me to see the depth a scholarship could have on students, as well as the donors who create them.
The University of Hartford has offered me so much and allowed me to pursue my passion, and this scholarship has been a big help to relieve my financial burden. I enjoy the small class sizes, and the University has strong partnerships with local companies such as Pratt and Whitney and United Technologies.
