Exciting experiences await you at The Hartford Art School Galleries

The Hartford Art School Galleries encompass the Joseloff Gallery, the Donald and Linda Silpe Gallery, the Helen S. Kaman Print Study Center, and the Art on Campus initiative. Our purpose is to launch conversations, expand creative thinking, and kindle engagement with our community through the lens of contemporary art. From thematic and retrospective exhibitions featuring globally renowned artists to experimental collaborations, a variety of exhibitions are on display year-round. We are free and open to the public—a hub for everyone in the community to gather, learn, and imagine through art.

April & May, 2026

Over the months of April and May, the Hartford Art School Galleries will host a series of exhibitions celebrating the diverse artwork of our graduating seniors and post baccalaureate students. The first round of BFA Thesis Exhibitions will run April 18-26, 2026. Join graduating seniors from the Illustration and Animation Departments for their exhibition, Penfaire, in Joseloff Gallery and the Painting and Printmaking Department for their exhibition, Entropy, in Silpe Gallery. 

A reception for both exhibitions will be held Saturday, April 18th from 6-8 p.m. at the respective galleries. In addition, the Illustration and Visual Communication Design Departments will hold their "Professionals Knight!" on Monday, April 21 from 6-7 p.m.

The second round of BFA Thesis Exhibitions will run May 2-10, 2026. Join graduating seniors from the Ceramics, Photography, and Sculpture Departments in Joseloff Gallery for their exhibition, In The Verge, and students from the Visual Communication Design Department in Silpe Gallery for their exhibition, Every Which Way.

Opening receptions for both exhibitions will be held at the respective galleries on Saturday, May 2 from 6-8 p.m.

Lastly, the Post Baccalaureate Ceramics students will host their exhibition, Acts of Preservation, in Joseloff Gallery from May 15-23, 2026 with an opening reception on Thursday, May 14 from 3:30-5 p.m.

Exhibitions are free and open to the public. 

Gifts to the HAS Art Galleries help provide our students and the community with access to renowned artists and extensive arts facilities.
