
Molly McGuerty grew up in San Diego, California, training in various styles of dance, focusing mostly on ballet. Attending summer intensives, she had the opportunity to train in many classical techniques in both ballet and modern. After high school, she decided to pursuit a BFA at the University of Oklahoma.
At the University of Oklahoma, Molly had the opportunity to perform classical ballets, works choreographed by Willam Christensen, George Balanchine, Gerald Arpino, and other greats, as well as had the opportunity of working with many modern-day choreographers on repertoire and original works. While in college, Molly worked at local dance studios, teaching ballet, jazz, and tap as well as taking on office work. She graduated with a BFA in Dance with emphasis in Ballet Pedagogy, and a minor in Business. She also received her certification in Mat Pilates.
Post graduation, Molly joined Ballet 5:8 for one season, where she performed as a second company artist. She then joined Ballet Hartford in 2023 as an apprentice. During her time at Ballet Hartford, she has had to opportunity to perform in many original works by artistic director, Claire Kretzschmar. Molly is currently a Principal dancer at Ballet Hartford, as well as HCD’s Dance Coordinator.
