Mike joins the University of Hartford from the Connecticut State Police, where he was the second highest ranking command officer for the entire department. Mike most recently served as Lieutenant Colonel and Commander over Field Operations, which included the major crime squad, narcotics, emergency services, counter-terrorism, and the largest field troops. Previously, Mike served as Major and Commander over Professional Standards and Support Services.
Earlier in his career, Mike served as Captain and Commander of recruitment, training and support services, and as a detective in undercover operations assigned to the state-wide narcotics task force. He is well known by town selectmen across the state for developing partnerships with towns and cities in our geography, and has received high marks for his collaborative, engaged, and community-oriented police methods. His community-based assignments included the Hartford Street Task Force initiative.
Mike holds a BA in Sociology from the University of Connecticut and a Masters in Criminal Justice from Western Connecticut State University. He is a graduate of both the FBI and DEA law enforcement leadership programs.
