Brownlee earned an MFA in painting from New York Academy of Art where he studied figurative painting and drawing. A University of Hartford alumnus, he completed his BFA in illustration at the Hartford Art School and attended Manchester Community College, where he received an AFA in visual fine arts. His paintings investigate found objects and interior spaces through a narrative lens and his work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is held in private collections in the United States and Mexico.
