I believe each students has the ability to learn and every person learns in a unique way. As an educator, it is my job to figure out what is the best way to present the information, so it resonates with the student.
Having a diverse studio, with students ranging from 4 year-olds to adults, has giving me the opportunity to adapt my teaching to serve students with different musical backgrounds, different goals and different expectations.
My ultimate goal as a teacher is for my students to become independent musical thinkers. I provide them with practice tools, so they can expand the work we do in lessons, in their own practice time at home.
I want my students to becoming self aware of all the aspects of playing the cello, find the balance between technique and musicality, but most importantly to be proud of what have they accomplished.
