Joe Galeota is currently Associate Professor of Percussion at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Mr. Galeota has been active as a performer and educator throughout North America, Europe, and Africa since 1972. He has taught numerous workshops, clinics, and residencies for all groups. He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music where he studied under Gary Chaffee and Dean Anderson. He did his graduate work at both the University of Ghana and Wesleyan University. Mr. Galeota is also the founder of JAG Drums, the leading manufacturing company of professional quality African percussion instruments. Along with teaching and performing around Boston, Mr. Galeota continues to study in West Africa, and takes many students abroad with him annually.
He has toured and performed with George Russell, Onye Onamichi, and Charlie Hunt.
