Laura Graves Wheeler earned her BS in Occupational Therapy from Worcester State College. Laura has worked with the pediatric population in the school system, however, most of her clinical experience and expertise is with the older adult population. She has worked in short term rehab and in dementia care units as both a practitioner and a director of rehab. She earned her post-professional doctorate from Quinnipiac University and has since earned specialty certification in both dementia care and in-home modification. She has been in academia for the past nine years, transitioning to University of Hartford in 2021. Dr. Wheeler serves as a member of the Roster of Accreditation Evaluators (RAE) for the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) and holds a board position on the Connecticut Occupational Therapy Association. Her research interests include aging in place and student mental health.
