Dr. Karen Braccialarghe, Ed.D., RN, is the Director of the undergraduate BSN Program and an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the University of Hartford. She earned her Doctorate in Nursing Education from Southern Connecticut State University in 2022. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Elms College in 2016 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Salem State University in 2003.

Dr. Braccialarghe teaches and coordinates nursing courses in the undergraduate program across the curriculum. Dr. Braccialarghe's areas of research interest include improving simulation as a teaching strategy, identifying gaps in transition to practice for new graduate nurses, and increasing equity to clinical experiences among undergraduate nursing students.

Dr. Braccialarghe is a member of the Association of Critical Care Nurses, The American Association of Colleges of Nursing, and she is the Vice President of Sigma Theta Tau, Iota Upsilon Chapter. Dr. Braccialarghe is ACLS and PALS certified.

Areas of Interest

For the past twenty-one years, Dr. Braccialarghe's bedside nursing career has been in pediatric critical care. She has her pediatric critical care registered nurse certification (PCCRN) and holds a staff position in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford, CT.
