James Shattuck‘s area of specialty is organic chemistry. He currently teaches the Organic Chemistry (CH 230-231) sequence and Biochemistry (BIO/CH 444). Research interests include organic synthesis and designing new experiments for the undergraduate laboratory, such as enantioselective epoxidation of allylic alcohols and assessment of enantiomeric excess via NMR analysis of Mosher esters.
