Kate Pendergast is vice president of Institutional Advancement, where she is responsible for leading all aspects of the University’s development and engagement efforts including major scholarship and capital campaigns, annual and planned giving programs, and alumni and corporate relations initiatives.
Prior to joining the University of Hartford in 2010, Kate served as executive director of the American Heart Association's New Hampshire Chapter, accountable for its strategic fundraising and corporate outreach efforts. She also directed corporate and community partnerships for the Capital Region Education Council (CREC).
Kate’s unique approach to helping individuals and institutions find their philanthropic voice comes from her experiences in the corporate sector. While at Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), she combined metric and solution-based sales principles with the fostering of client relations to successfully secure corporate sponsorships for professional sports franchises.
She shares her advancement expertise as a panelist for events hosted by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), has served as mission speaker for the American Heart Association’s Infant CPR program, and co-chaired the University of Delaware’s 15th reunion fundraising committee.
Kate holds a BA in english/journalism from the University of Delaware, where she was also a four-year member of the Women’s Soccer Team, and an MA in sport management from the University of Connecticut.
