We look forward to welcoming you at Orientation!

Jump into our campus community by participating in our two-day, in-person Orientation. At Orientation, you'll learn more about campus resources and tips and tricks for how to be academically successful in your first year. You will also get a feel for what residential life is like through our overnight experience. Students leave Orientation with new friendships and prepared to start their college journey!

We can't wait to host our incoming students beginning with us in Fall 2025 at Orientation this June! Please select the session that works best for you.

  • Session 1: June 8-9
  • Session 2: June 13-14
  • Session 3: June 15-16

Day 1 begins with check-in at 8:30 a.m. and your full experience will end at noon on day 2.

If you are unable to attend Orientation in June, please reach out to our Center for Student Success at css@hartford.edu or 860.768.4999 to talk with us about our alternate date on August 22.

Transfer students will have specific programming at the August 22 session and are encouraged to attend on that date. Please reach out to css@hartford.edu or 860.768.4999 to coordinate registration.

We look forward to meeting you soon. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at css@hartford.edu so that we can help.

What to Expect at Orientation

Orientation is a great time to get acclimated to your new life as a Hartford Hawk.

At our two-day experience in June you will get to meet new friends, experience life on campus, learn about UHart traditions, and stay overnight in our neighborhood residence halls*—it's going to be a great time!

What to bring to Orientation:

  • Linens
  • Pillow
  • Toiletries
  • Alarm clock
  • Casual clothes
  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Pen and pencil
  • And most importantly, your energy and enthusiasm

Don't forget your toothbrush!

Day 1 begins with check-in at 8:30 a.m. and your full experience will end at noon on day 2.

*Please note that parents and guardians do not stay on campus with their student. Several local hotels and motels provide discounted rates. These accommodations are conveniently located within 10-20 minutes from the campus.
