SGA E-Board

The SGA E-Board is elected at the end of the Spring Semester each year. These individuals head the University of Hartford's Student Government Association and are responsible for various aspects of life at the university.  

Cassandra Fowlie - Executive Vice President

Cassandra Fowlie (better known as Cassii) is a junior serving her third consecutive year in Student Government. She has previously held the positions of Freshman Senator, Student Affairs Associate and Student Affairs Vice President. Aside from holding her position in SGA, Cassii is also a member of Habitat For Humanity and Red Caps. She is studying Performing Arts Management and working toward her goal of creating her own music/visual arts festival. She is also in the process of writing and recording her first album.

Nateka Scafe - Finance Vice President

Nateka Scafe is a sophomore serving her second consecutive year in Student Government. She has previously held the positions of B Complex Senator and Finance VP Associate. Besides her position in SGA, Nateka is also a member of the University's step team the UHA Steppaz and Barney Leadership Council. She is studying Accounting and Marketing at the Barney School of business. She is working towards her Bachelor's degree and hopes to pass the CPA in the future. With this degree she would like to start a small accounting firm.

Amber Gipson- Student Affairs Vice President 

Amber Gipson is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences from Boca Raton, Florida. She is a double major in Biology/Pre-Medicine and Psychology, with a minor in Chemistry. Previously the Senator of C Complex, Amber has appreciated the Student Government Association from the inception of her time at UHart and is elated to be the current Student Affairs Vice President. She looks forward to the upcoming year and working with all students, especially the first year students she met at orientation while being a Red Cap. Amber is also active in other organizations on campus, including Women for Change, of which she eagerly anticipates the first meetings. She hopes this year runs excellently and is a highlight for everyone at UHart.

Zuri Marin - Public Relations Vice President 

Zuri Marin is a senior in the Barney School of Business majoring in Marketing and minoring in Italian. She is originally from Westchester, New York and is serving her third year in SGA. She has been a Regents Park and Village senator and most currently holds the title of Public Relations Vice President. Aside from SGA, she is the President of the American Marketing Association, a member of the Barney Leadership Council and a peer mentor for incoming freshmen Barney students. She looks forward to an exciting last year at the University of Hartford.

Taylor Clark - Academic Vice President 

Taylor Clark is a senior in both the Barney School of Business and the Hartford Art School, studying Entrepreneurship and Photography. She is currently serving as the Academic Vice President for the 2013-2014 school year. She is from the town of Sutton, Massachusetts. This is her second year in SGA, being a Village Senator last year. She has studied abroad twice, in Rome, Italy for a semester and London, England for a week, and is hoping to get abroad one more time before graduation. While in Rome, she helped to teach English to a 5th grade Italian elementary school class. She is also involved in helping with the recently formed Innovator Group.  

Yaeli Lifshutz - Student Regent 

Yaeli Lifshutz is a senior majoring in Criminal Justice, Psychology, and Sociology. She is one of the Student Regents for this year, serving on the Higher Education and Physical Plant committees. This is her first year being involved with student government. Yaeli is enrolled in the Honors program and is currently completing an undergraduate thesis on the rhetoric of police report narratives. She has worked with the Summer Bridge program as a preceptor and for the Office of Residential Life for three years. She received the Junior Regents Honor Award and Student Leadership Recognition of Service Award in 2013. Yaeli plans to attend graduate school in the fall of 2014. 

Matthew Singer - Student Regent 

Matt excels in both the Barney School and A&S,  double majoring in Marketing and Communications. He is a Senior, originally from Woodstock, NY. This is his fourth year in SGA, he has previously served as Freshman Class Senator, the Public Relations Vice-President and the Public Relations Associate, and he is currently serving as this year’s Student Regent. Matt is also involved in the American Marketing Association, the National Student Advertising Competition, and participated in a Study Abroad program this summer to London.

Zoë Rubin - Executive Assistant

Zöe Rubin is a junior studying Communications with a Media and Broadcasting emphasis, and a duel minor in Political Government and Music. Prior to being on the E-board, Zöe has held the position of the Senator of the College of Arts and Sciences her sophomore year. In addition to her commitment with Student Government, she also currently holds positions in other organizations including the Campus Activities Team, Copy Chief of the on-campus newspaper, The Informer, and is Co-Vice President of the Society of Leadership and Success, Sigma Alpha Pi. While she was abroad in Israel in the fall, Zöe was able to learn about Political Science in the Middle East and has helped with her contribution to applying to Law School following graduation. Zöe looks forward to working closely with SGA to make this a successful and productive spring semester.
