This is my story

Robert Fronczek

Growing Campus Pride

I take great pride in the appearance of our campus, in operating our own campus greenhouse, and in working with students to beautify our grounds.

I love working in a college environment. In my role, working for the University of Hartford is like working in the center of a town where you are constantly meeting new people.

The greenhouse on campus is not easy to spot and many people don't know that we have one. The plants we grow enhance our campus landscape. I enjoy sharing the joy of watching these plants grow with the students I work with, including those from the Farmington Valley Transitional Academy.

Another favorite part of my job is working with various student organizations on campus. I have seen firsthand that students want to be involved in changing their environment for the better. This adds to the total sense of community that we have.

It's hard to pinpoint one favorite project I have been involved with at the University. The most enjoyable aspect of my dozen years here is watching the rise of the entire institution.

I strive to show more students, faculty, and staff how enjoyable gardening and landscaping can be, and hope that the entire University community takes notice and ownership of our campus environment.
