The University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business is now accepting applications for its new one-year Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. This MBA curriculum is designed for specifically for students who plan to pursue a career in management or who want to transition from a specialized field into a general management role.

MBA degrees are becoming increasingly important in the business world. Many companies view them as a requirement for hiring or job promotion rather than just a special distinction. And according to the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, people with MBAs earn 50 percent more than individuals with a BA by age 50.

Students who have already earned an undergraduate degree in a business-related field are eligible for admission to the Barney School one-year MBA program. Those with a non-business-related undergraduate degree must first complete six core courses, either on the University campus or online. This online option gives students the flexibility and convenience to schedule their studies around their professional or family obligations.

For more information, please visit www.hartford.edu/barney/amba/default.aspx. Or, attend one of Barney’s information sessions, which are held every Tuesday from 4:30-6 p.m. in Auerbach Hall, Room A227, University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford.

The University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs that reflect its mission to prepare leaders and decision makers who are globally aware and socially responsible. The Barney School is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International), which places it in the top five percent of all business schools. AACSB International accreditation assures quality and promotes excellence and continuous improvement in undergraduate and graduate education for business administration and accounting.
