The Monday Night Jazz series was started in 1967 by jazz great Paul Brown, who coordinated this longest-running free jazz series through 2007. Since then, the Hartford Jazz Society has overseen the concerts. WWUH-FM, a community service of the University of Hartford, has carried most of these forty-plus years of concerts live.
