Storm Advisory

Blizzard conditions are now impacting our region and a Connecticut statewide travel ban is in effect. The University will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 27.  Day and evening classes are canceled. An updated advisory on the status of classes and operations for Wednesday will be posted Tuesday evening. During the time that the University is closed, the Commons, Subway, and Village Market will maintain regular hours for residential dining services and the Sports Center will be open for use by residential students only. Ivana Milanovic



Ivana Milanovic, professor of mechanical engineering in the University of Hartford's College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture (CETA), talks about her education, her background; the engineering programs at UHart; and about the efforts to encourage women to enter the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) disciplines.

Milanvoc also discusses her research using wind tunnels on flow fields; improving air-flow efficiency; and her projects with NASA and United Technologies. She talks about the peacetime applications of drone technology and its applications to automobile design. She also addresses the challenge of procuring funding for engineering research.
