Ivana Milanovic, professor of mechanical engineering in the University of Hartford's College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture (CETA), talks about her education, her background; the engineering programs at UHart; and about the efforts to encourage women to enter the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) disciplines.
Milanvoc also discusses her research using wind tunnels on flow fields; improving air-flow efficiency; and her projects with NASA and United Technologies. She talks about the peacetime applications of drone technology and its applications to automobile design. She also addresses the challenge of procuring funding for engineering research.
