Legacy Medals for Students with Alumni Relatives
Legacy students are those who have grandparents, parents, siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, or uncles who have attended the University of Hartford. We believe these relationships deserve special attention and have created a University of Hartford Legacy Medal to be worn with your Commencement regalia. Register to receive your Legacy Medal by Wednesday, Nov. 28. Legacy Medals can be picked up on Sunday, December 2, beginning at 1 p.m. inside Konover Campus Center. For questions or additional information, please contact Stefania Campbell at scampbell@hartford.edu or 860.768.2429.

Photographs and Videos

Graduates are photographed by a professional studio, Grad Images. Each graduate should receive a proof in the mail in the weeks following the ceremony. Several ordering options are available, but there is no obligation to purchase. Videos may be ordered from the University of Hartford TV studio. Call 860.768.4776 for pricing and further details.

Special Arrangements for Disabled Guests
Lincoln Theater has handicapped parking near its front entrance. Please state any special needs to a public safety officer upon your arrival on campus.

Flowers will be available for purchase near the ceremony site.

Severe Weather
Commencement will not be held under severe storm conditions. If the weather is inclement, the University of Hartford Web site will display an advisory beginning Saturday at 6 p.m. with updates Sunday morning. Those without Internet access can call 860.768.4100. If the event is cancelled, it will not be rescheduled.

Reception
The Alumni Association sponsors a reception for graduates and guests in the Great Room of Konover Campus Center immediately following the ceremony.

Diploma Information

Fall Commencement participants include September 2012 graduates and January 2013 applicants for graduation. Diplomas are mailed to the candidates following their actual graduation dates. The Commencement program lists the names of both September graduates and January candidates participating in the ceremony.

Ceremony Purpose and History
Students finish their degree requirements at different times during the year, and some who complete their studies in September or January, especially international students, find it very difficult to return to campus months later for Commencement in May. Seeking to provide these students with a formal ceremony that celebrates their hard work and academic accomplishments, the Fall Commencement Ceremony was introduced in 1996. It is for both September degree recipients and those who are scheduled to receive degrees in January.
