Campus-Wide Initiatives

First Thursday Trips to The Wadsworth Atheneum
WELFund organizes group trips to the The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art located in downtown Hartford, Connecticut. The outings take place on the first Thursday of every month for the academic year. Thanks to wonderful WELFund donors the tickets are free of charge for students, transportation is provided (departs from the Sports Center at 6:00PM), and all students are welcome!

Engageing Workshops, Fun Conferences, Exciting Speakers and More!
WELFund plans events and outings on a monthly basis which are open to all students at the University. These events are designed to give students a way to interact, discuss campus and mainstream topics, build leadership skills, as well as establish a new network of friends and classmates. Students should check the student calendar in Suisman Lounge for upcoming events.

Women's Wednesdays
WELFund organizes monthly lunch sessions with a variety of topics designed to give female faculty and staff an informal way to connect, be curious, and contribute their thoughts. These lunch and learn sessions take place on one Wednesday each month in the months of September, October, November, February, April and March.

Community Events and Mentoring Opportunities
Throughout each year WELFund organizes events open to all students, staff and faculty, as well as the greater Hartford community on certain occasions. These events include speakers, book signings, film watch parties, live streaming of events and much more. In addition to the open events there are numerous ways to get involved with WELFund, one of which is mentoring a female student on campus. If you have an idea for an event or are looking for more ways to be involved as a student or faculty/staff member please let us know!
