Protestant Campus Ministry

The Protestant Campus Ministry at the University of Hartford provides opportunities for students to live and grow in faith and is directed by Rev. Gary Knighton.

We gather for a time of corporate worship on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. in Konover Great Room. The worship services last about an hour and thirty minutes and includes multiethnic worship songs, prayer, communion, and dynamic teaching. We also facilitate faith and prayer groups on campus for all students which meet throughout the week. You can find out more about Faith Fellowship at www.faithfellowshipct.com.

Please feel free to stop by room 153 located in Gengras Student Union during my office hours, which are updated each semester and posted on my office door.

A MESSAGE FROM THE MINISTER:

As the University's Protestant Campus Minister, I am here to serve the spiritual needs of the students, faculty, and administration. Everyone on campus is encouraged to call on me, regardless of their religious faith commitment or lack thereof.

I can provide any of the following services:

  • Spiritual mentoring for anyone interested in exploring the Christian faith
  • Discipling for anyone wanting to grow as a follower of Jesus
  • Training for ministry or evangelization
  • Spiritual guidance and support in time of crisis or in dealing with a difficult  circumstance

I support the vibrant and growing student-led Christian ministries on campus such as:

Know that students are always encouraged to be regular attendees and active participants at a local church during their time at the University. Although we provide a great worship service on campus, it is my pleasure to connect students to local churches close to campus that can better meet their spiritual or cultural preferences.

My office is in the basement of Gengras Student Union, Room 153.  Please contact me at rev.f.g.knighton@gmail.com
