Qualifications for Hartford Scholars Program

To be considered for this program a candidate must:

  • Be a citizen of the United States or eligible non-citizen on or before the first day of classes of the student's junior year in high school;
  • Be a permanent resident of the City of Hartford during the junior and senior years of high school;
  • Be a graduate of a City of Hartford public high school, A.I. Prince Vocational-Technical School, or a suburban Project Choice high school;
  • Apply for admission and be accepted to the University as a matriculated student in the year of the student's high school graduation;
  • Be admitted without conditions as a degree-seeking student in an undergraduate program of study at the University (either an Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree program);
  • Submit the Application for Admission by March 15th of the senior year of high school, be formally accepted to the University by April 15th, and submit the required admission acceptance forms (including the admission deposit form) by May 1st; and
  • Enroll as a full-time undergraduate student during the fall term immediately following the student's graduation from high school.
