The HOUSE that Hartford Built

The Center for Community Service is proud to announce a new initiative with Habitat for Humanity, that will be launched in the Fall of 2014 and span the course of the academic year.

The HOUSE that Hartford Built is a unique program that affords our students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to collect, donate, and fundraise for a local family in the Hartford area.  All proceeds will be donated to the construction of a Habitat House in the Hog River area of Hartford, Connecticut.

The Program

The Center for Community Service will be tabling in GSU-Suisman Lounge every Tuesday and Thursday (Open Hour- 12pm - 2pm) during the 2014-2015 academic year.  Here students, faculty, and staff will have to the opportunity to donate cash that they have raised via redeeming plastic/glass bottles and cans, fundraising within their individual communities, or personally donating to this cause.

As you donate each giver will be entered into a drawing to win various prizes.

Howie Cash will accumulate in “The HOUSE that Hartford Built throughout the Fall and Spring semesters and on Friday April 3, 2015 at 3:30 pm The Center for Community Service will hold the final program.

Here we will unveil the amount raised and award door prizes to those who contributed toward this effort .
