Accommodations and Services


Some common accommodations available at the University of Hartford include but are not limited to:

  • Extended time on exams
  • Distraction Reduced testing location
  • Note-taking accommodations
  • Books in alternate format
  • Readers for exams
  • Scribes for exams
  • Computer use for essay exams
  • Recording lectures

Eligibility for accommodations are determined on a case-by-case basis.

Academic Coaching services:

Professional Academic Coaches are available to meet one-on-one with students for academic strategies. The availability of appointments: appointments are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. A First-Year student may meet once per week for 30-45 minutes and sophomores may meet biweekly based on availability of appointments. Upperclassmen may access "Drop-In" appointments.   Students may schedule or cancel appointments by calling 860-768-4312.

Academic Coaches may work with students on topics including:

  • Adjusting to college
  • Time Management
  • Organization                                                                                              
  • Stress Management                                                                                             
  • Note taking: for lectures and readings             
  • Test Preparation & Test Taking 
  • Self-advocacy                                                                                                  
  • Personal Accountability
