This is my story

Susan Coleman

Chinese Connections

I am helping the University of Hartford establish a lasting partnership with Shandong University of Finance in the Shandong Province of China. Four students from Shandong plan to attend the University of Hartford in the fall of 2010. Our students may also soon have the chance to study abroad in Shandong.

When I made my first visit to China in December of 2008, I was impressed by the Chinese people’s hunger for education and their curiosity and eagerness to learn about the United States. I would like our students to experience that and to participate in Chinese learning and culture.

Our economy is becoming more global. As we move forward, China will be a very important part of the world’s political and economic picture. If we can help our students learn about China and establish relationships with its people, we will all be better prepared for the future.
