Items Left Behind

We want to remind all residential students that when you turn your keys in and sign the appropriate paper work to check out of your assignment your Housing Agreement for the current academic year is officially concluded.  This means that when you have officially checked out of your space, you have vacated that space and will not be permitted to re-enter it.  This is important to know, because if you leave any items behind after you have checked out of your housing assignment, these items are subject for immediate removal and disposal.

Each year we receive several calls or visits from residents stating they left items behind in their room, suite, or apartment.  Unfortunately, when this happens, items have already been removed and discarded.  We encourage all residents to check their entire space before check out to ensure you do not leave anything behind.  To ensure your departure goes smoothly, be sure to follow all closing procedures and officially checkout to avoid any costs that are associated with failing to check out properly.

If you have, any questions about the closing/check-out process talk to your RA, RD, or contact the Office of Residential Life at 860.768.7792.
