The primary role of the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is to support faculty and staff to secure external funding for scholarly research, programmatic initiatives and other projects which cannot be funded through the University. The majority of the funders with who we work are in the public sector, but there are certain corporations and foundations to whom we submit proposals.
If you have an idea, please call our office or complete the "External Funding Form". Once a funder is identified, OSP will assist in developing the proposal to ensure it responds to the funder’s requirements. If you are fortunate enough to receive funding, we will assist in the award set-up and the compliance issues that require attention throughout the life of the grant.
Throughtout our webpage, there are many sources of information and sources of funding to begin your search. OSP requires all PIs to use the key templates that are internal forms required for all grant submissions. Please note that OSP requires advance notice of 10 days to submit a grant to a funding agency which is why OSP wants to work with you in advance of submission deadlines.
Do not hesitate to call or stop by to discuss your plans for a research project or any other initiative which will require external funding. In the past several years we have received dozens of awards totaling millions of dollars. OSP is eager to help you find the resources to fund your research project!
