Getting Started with Blackboard - This session, offered on most Tuesdays, is designed for instructors new to Blackboard and provides a general orientation with hands-on time to begin working in Blackboard. Instructors will learn strategies for organizing Blackboard courses, review the many tools and features available, and start adding content items such as a syllabus to their course. Teaching Online with Skype, the Online Telephone with a Camera - Voice Over Internet Protocol or VoIP works like on online telephone and one of the most popular examples of this is Skype. On Thursday, October 8th, at 12:30 p.m., join Amanda Carlson, assistant professor in A&S Art History, for a demonstration of Skype and hear about her experiences using this tool in instruction.

Architecture Series Lecture: Lance Gordon - Hartford planner Lance Gordon is the speaker in this week's Architecture Lecture Series at the University of Hartford. The subject of Gordon's lecture is "Frederick Law Olmsted and Beyond." The lecture will begin at 6PM on Thursday, October 8 in the Wilde Auditorium in the Harry Jack Gray Center on campus. The lecture is free and open to the public, and is supported through the generosity of JCJ Architecture.
