The Hertford College Lecture - Invigorating Every Word: Recent British and Irish Poetry In this lecture David-Antoine Williams examines a selection of recent English, Scottish, and Irish poetry, with particular attention to the ways in which some poets have interpreted and extended T. S. Eliot's suggested relationship between poet and language.

Teaching Web 2.0 and Mashups - On Friday, October 17, from 2 pm - 3 pm, all instructors are invited to join University of Hartford alumnus Mark Frydenberg of Bentley University to learn about Microsoft Popfly, a tool for building mashups. What are mashups?!? They are popular Web 2.0 tools that combine multiple data sources into a single application: think Google maps combined with digital photos to create a travel journal. In his presentation, Mark will also share teaching strategies for using mashups in the classroom. If you have a laptop, bring it!
