Political News Coverage Opportunity: Women in Politics Panel and Presidential Debate Viewing Party at University of Hartford

WHAT   The University of Hartford is hosting two events focused on politics Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Women in Politics Panel Discussion:
The Gov. M. Jodi Rell Center for Public Service at the University of Hartford is presenting a panel discussion, Where are the Women? Opportunities and Challenges for Women in Politics Today. Panelists are Connecticut’s Deputy State Comptroller Martha Carlson, former Connecticut House Speaker Moira Lyons (1999-2004), and New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart. The discussion will focus on the ins and outs, ups and downs, and rewards for women who choose to enter the world of elected office.

Presidential Debate Viewing Party:
Students enrolled in the University of Hartford’s Hillyer College honors course “Generation on the Rise,” a class about millennials and political activism, are hosting a viewing party for the third presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
