With a ton of excitement and, possibly, a touch of trepidation nearly 1,600 first-year students arrived on campus Aug. 26 and 27. With an eye toward what they want to achieve in the next four years the students set about settling into their rooms, meeting new friends, and attending first classes. Take a look at Move-In the first week of classes through the eyes of some of our new students:

Members of the Class of 2020 were accepted from more than 16,600 applicants, the largest applicant pool in University history. They come from 33 states and 21 countries, including Italy, China, Australia, Thailand, Denmark, Iceland, Ireland, and Portugal.

“Welcome to each of you as a member of the University community and Hawk Nation,” University Hartford President Walter Harrison told the students during their Convocation in Lincoln Theater on Saturday, Aug. 27, in Lincoln Theater. “You will be a Hawk for as long as you live and, like me, you will become very proud of that.”
