University of Hartford President Walter Harrison will announce that the University’s Public Safety officers are trained and outfitted with life-saving “stop the bleed” kits to save lives during mass casualty events. UHart’s officers are the first in New England to have the kits.

UHart Public Safety officers and Dr. Lenworth Jacobs, vice president of academic affairs at Hartford Hospital and a national leader in the drive to increase survival rates in mass casualty events, will attend the announcement. It will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 2 p.m. in the Shaw Center's Regents Commons, inside the University's HIllyer Hall. See campus map.

A demonstration of the life-saving kits will be given.
