“The Object Stares Back” in Hartford Art School Photography Student BFA Thesis Exhibition

Ten seniors in the Hartford Art School’s Photography program will present their BFA Thesis work in an exhibition titled “The Object Stares Back.” The exhibition kicks off with an Opening Reception on Saturday, April 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. in Silpe Gallery in the Hartford Art School building on the University of Hartford campus, 200 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford.

Among the student displaying their photographic works are: Ali Baker of Upper Saddle River, NJ; Liz Calvi of West Hartford; Dorothy Classen of Wallingford; Caitlyn Como of Ludlow MA; Shannon Hogan of Manchester; Jamie Kanca of Waterbury;:Sarah Mitrani of Hillsborough, NJ; and Dan Rubenbaur of Wethersfield.

The exhibition runs through Tuesday, May 1, and it is free and open to the public. Silpe Gallery’s hours are Sunday, April 29, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. and Monday and Tuesday, April 30 and May 1, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Photography Department’s Senior BFA Thesis Exhibition is an annual event; which this year features 10 photographers. Work is presented in a variety of mediums and formats; themes and genres; black/white and color; digital imaging technologies and wet process.
