Preschoolers from the Women’s League Child Development School in Hartford will get a surprise from Santa Claus on Thursday, Dec. 8, at the University of Hartford. The University is holding its annual pre-school Holiday Party, where more than 160 preschoolers will each get to take home a stuffed animal of their choice. The youngsters will also have a chance to get their picture taken with Santa.

The party will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Konover Campus Center, on the University of Hartford campus, 200 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford.

Each year, children from Hartford-area preschools are invited to a holiday party on campus, featuring pizza and snacks, music, a visit with Santa Claus, and a stuffed animal to take home. The annual party is hosted by the University’s Office of Multicultural Programs and Center for Community Service, and many student organizations and University departments provide donations and volunteers for the event.

The party had traditionally has been held in Suisman Lounge at the Gengras Student Union, but it has been moved this year to accommodate the large number of children, volunteers, and staff involved in the event.
