The Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford will present Faculty Collects, an exhibition of selected work from the personal art collections of Hartford Art School faculty members. The artwork ranges in media, from ceramics, etchings, and woodcuts to oil paintings, illustration, photographs, and artists books.

The exhibit will include work by former faculty, and alumni, as well as pieces by nationally and internationally recognized artists with no affiliation to the Hartford Art School. The exhibit will be on display in Silpe Gallery, in the Hartford Art School building, at the University of Hartford, 200 Bloomfield Ave., West Hartford.

A reception to mark the opening of the exhibition, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibit will be open from Sept. 2—22.

Silpe Gallery’s hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 860.768.4393 for weekend hours.
