Bouncing castles or petting zoos? Trackless train rides or trolley tours of campus? Families from West Hartford, Bloomfield, Hartford and all area towns will have plenty of choices at the University of Hartford’s ninth annual Community Day on Saturday, April 30. The event is held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine, on the University’s campus at 200 Bloomfield Avenue in West Hartford.

More than 70 free events, performances, and attractions will be offered. The performance schedule includes a concert featuring some of the best collegiate a capella groups from across New England (12:30 p.m.) and an always popular family play (2 p.m.), performed by campus drama club Dramatis Personae.

Guided trolley tours of campus will enable guests to see the University’s scenic 350-acre campus. Popular returning events include a bicycle rodeo and safety clinic (bring your bikes), “Be An Anchor” experience in the University’s TV studio, dance classes, petting zoo, sand art, face painting, and sports circle.

The University’s Center for Community Service will be collecting donations of new socks, old shoes, and sample-sized toiletries to benefit those in need.
