Dan Army, a University of Hartford freshman from Enfield, won top honors at this year’s Alexander A. Goldfarb Student Exhibition during a ceremony held in the University of Hartford’s Joseloff Gallery on Feb. 17.
Army was one of two students to win Purchase Awards in the amount of $1,000, made possible through the Alexander A. Goldfarb Endowment Trust. Army’s award-winning "A Dedication to Female Graffiti Writers," a mixed media painting created primarily with spray paint, will be part of the University’s permanent collection.
The annual juried Alexander Goldfarb Student Exhibition and awards are open to all undergraduate and graduate students of the University of Hartford, in all schools and colleges. Army, a student in University’s Hartford Art School is believed to be the first freshman to win.
The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, will continue at the Joseloff Gallery through March 20. For more information, please call 860.768.4090 or visit www.joseloffgallery.org.
