Beta Gamma Sigma, the international business honor society, has named the University of Hartford's Barney School of Business a 2010 Outstanding Chapter Honorable Mention.

Beta Gamma Sigma President George E. Stevens says the University's chapter "performed at an exceptional level by encouraging and honoring academic achievement in the study of business."

The University chapter will now receive a $500 scholarship to give to one of its outstanding student members.

Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a business program accredited by AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). 61 Barney juniors, seniors, and graduate students and two Barney faculty members were inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma earlier this spring.
