UHart Students Celebrate Their President
Students joined the crowd in the Sports Center to celebrate President Harrison's retirement.

The Hartford Pep Band, which Walt helped create, provided the musical entertainment.

“For 19 years, she’s given up her hopes and dreams in life so I could fulfill mine,” Walt said of his wife.
New Championship Banner
A championship banner in honor of Walt donated by University Regent Tom Trillo ’79, was unveiled and now hangs from the Sports Center rafters.
President Harrison soaks in one of the many standing ovations he received from the community.
Harrison was honored with two original fanfares written by Hartt School Professor Stephen Gryc and performed by an ensemble of Hartt students.
Celebrated by the Pirates
President Harrison, a lifelong Pittsburgh Pirates fan, received a letter the Pirates President Frank Coonelly.
Major League Honor
Walt also received an authentic jersey bearing his name and the number 19.

The party was the perfect chance for President Harrison to celebrate with old friends.
