Michael Wininger, part 2



Michael Wininger, assistant professor of rehabilitation sciences in the College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions at the University of Hartford, talks about the challenges of making prosthetic devices that more closely mimic the functions of the human body parts that they are replacing in this second installment of his two-part interview.  He also talks about the potential for new materials, such as polymers and piezo-electric crystals, to have a major impact on the future of prosthetic and orthotic devices.

Wininger also discusses his research into jazz-guitarist Django Reinhardt's self-rehabilitation. While describing the prosthetics and orthotics program at the University, Wininger highlights a student research project in penguin rehabilitation!.
