Tonkin, University Professor of the Humanities and President Emeritus at the University of Hartford, is a world authority on the international language of Esperanto and linguistics, as well as an expert on Shakespeare. Tonkin discusses his current academic interest in sociolinguistics and talks about the history and development of Esperanto. Tonkin also itemizes some of his accomplishments as university president, including the creation of the Presidents’ College.
