Global Trends in Education: Dominican Republic

Info Sessions: Thursday, Sept. 13 (GSU 339) & Tuesday, Sept. 25 (A424), 12:15-1:30pm

This course meets weekly during the first part of the spring 2019 semester and the class will then travel to the Dominican Republic over Spring Break as part of the course. Attendance at the on-campus classes is mandatory to enroll and is an integral part of the course.

This three-credit course, which will satisfy the UISC requirement, is open to all majors and will focus broadly on the study of education and culture in the Dominican Republic. The structure of the course is based on lectures, presentations and discussions of the topics based on selected readings, field trips, and research. Travel dates are March 14 - 23, 2019.

Estimated Program Fee: $3,300.00*. This includes round-trip group international flight, hotel accommodations and some meals, in-country transportation, airport transfers, guest lectures, site visits, and scheduled excursions and entrance fees.

*All listed fees are subject to change and cannot be guaranteed until 10 deposits have been received. The University reserves the right to cancel the program if the required number of deposits have not been received by the deadline. In the event a program is canceled, all deposits will be refunded to the student account.

Applications and a program deposit of $1,000 are DUE by November 1st and full payment is DUE December 15th. Scholarships are available, deadline to apply is November 15th.
