Spring 2018 International Student Orientation Welcome Week

Welcome to the University of Hartford!

We look forward to meeting you during International Welcome Week.  This is your introduction to the campus community where you will meet people, find ways to make the University of Hartford your home away from home, and learn steps that will help you take charge of your college career. You will also receive academic advising, finalize registration for fall semester classes, and get a feel for life at the University. Campus Map


Friday,  January 19, 2018

Arrival Day Welcome Week begins on January 19th; please plan to arrive on this date. If you arrive to the area before this date, you will need to make your own housing and transportation arrangements. Arrival If you require airport or train pickup If you wish to be picked up at Bradley International Airport (BDL) or Union Station, Hartford CT (Train or Bus) please complete our Arrival Greeting Request Form This request must be received by January 12th. If we do not receive this form from you byJanuary 12th, you will need to make your own transportation arrangements to campus. If you plan to arrive to campus on your own

  •  8:30- 16:30 - Daytime Arrival

If you arrive to campus during our office hours of 8:30 – 16:30 please report to: Bates House, Office of International Admission (Building 1 on Campus Map) tel: 860.768.4981.

  • After 16:30 - Evening Arrival

If you arrive to campus after 16:30 please report to: The Office of Public Safety (Building 23 on Campus Map) tel: 860.768.7985. A Student Ambassador will greet you and escort you to your room.Complementary On-campus Housing - January 19 - January 23nd. We invite you to live on campus for several days upon your arrival to the University of Hartford in a temporary dormitory room. A temporary meal card will be provided for you to access the dining halls for one week. This will allow you to get settled in, confirm your on or off-campus housing for the semester and participate in our orientation activities.

International Student Orientation Day

The University of Hartford’s International Student Orientation is mandatory for all new undergraduate, graduate and English Language students, including those who are transferring from another college or university in the U.S. to Hartford. The orientation program will cover a number of important topics, including University policies and immigration regulations, living in the U.S., student services available to you, and much more. It is also an opportunity to meet other new and current students, make friends and have some fun. (10:00am to 2:00pm, Konover Campus Center - Building location subject to change).

8:30-12:00 International Student Check-in and SEVIS Certification

Gengras Student Union, room 327 (building 18) *Only for students who have not been certified for attendance at the university with the US Citizenship and Immigration Service. Students must present their passport, I-94 form and I-20 form to the International Center. We will certify your attendance at the University with the U.S. Immigration and Citizenship Service.

8:30-11:15 English Language Placement Test, Hillyer

Hall, room 255, (building 20). The ELI placement test is for all students who have directly applied to that program and are not matriculated in a degree program, those students that are matriculated into a degree program, and any student who has not submitted TOEFL or ILETS scores.


Tuesday, January 23, 2018 - Classes Begin
