A key objective of second-year advising is to help students begin the transition process from Hillyer College to four-year baccalaureate programs. You may continue to work with your first-year academic advisor, or you may choose another advisor who has a special interest or expertise in your future field of study. During the second semester of your second year, you will be put in touch with an evaluator or faculty member at your intended four-year college who will work with you to produce a plan of study for your bachelor degree.
Two courses are required; at least one must be a literature course.
One course with a lab section is required.
Students can fulfill the eighteen (18) credits of electives in a variety of ways:
In their second year, Hillyer students take advanced courses in their area of study. Many of these courses are offered in Hillyer College, and students with a sufficient GPA may take courses in their intended major outside of Hillyer as well.
