Carol Roderick, Director of the HCD Dance Department


Carol Roderick received her formal pedagogical training with the late Jürgen Schneider (Bolshoi Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet, American Ballet Theatre) and Gabriela Komleva (Kirov/Mariinski Ballet). She has taught, coached, and trained teachers for professional companies, universities, and prestigious schools in the United States, Canada, Japan, and Europe. She is known as a meticulous, skilled, and inspirational teacher.  Read MorePrograms: ballet

Jillian Cote, Assistant Director of the HCD Dance Department

Rosi Docal Pizzuto

Jillian Foley

Julianne Guarnieri received her early dance training at the Educational Center for the Arts. Sarkis Kaltakhtchian

Libby Nye


Libby Nye, a graduate of the Juilliard School, has been a soloist and principal dancer with many companies including the Jose Limon Company and The American Dance Theater at Lincoln Center. Sofia Diouk graduated from the V.E. Sojo Conservatory with a degree in music and piano performance and later attended Indiana University at Bloomington as a visiting scholar. Blind since birth, David Eberly was teaching himself to play the piano by age 4. After learning to read Braille music, he began formal study of the piano. He is a graduate of the Oak Hill School for the Blind and the University of Hartford's The Hartt School.  Read More

Pianist Dina Simanovich holds a Master for Music from St. Petersburg Conservatory and a Bachelor of Music from St. Petersburg Music College in Russia. She has also earned diplomas as a piano soloist, piano instructor, and accompanist.   Read More

Collaborative Pianist: Timothy Wallace


In addition to serving as a collaborative pianist for HCD, Timothy Alexandre Wallace serves as Music Director/Organist at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, Simsbury, Conn. and manages Studio 59 in Torrington. Wallace is a member of the American Guild of Organists, the Royal Canadian College of Organists, and a performing member of the improvisational group Improvelocity, Boston. He is also on the Baldwin Roster of Artists.  Read More
