Founders' Planned Giving Society

The Founders' Planned Giving Society recognizes the thoughtfulness and generosity of every individual who has made a charitable provision for the University of Hartford by means of a will, trust, retirement plan, insurance policy, or life income arrangement of any kind. Life income gifts include charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts, which allow donors to transfer valuable assets or property in exchange for a stream of income, typically for a lifetime. Upon termination of these tax-deductible arrangements, a distribution of the remaining principal is made to the University for a purpose designated in advance by the donor.

Deliberate gift planning offers each person, who so chooses, the opportunity to leave an enduring legacy at the University of Hartford. We are deeply grateful to the members listed below for the plans they have made and the enduring legacies they have already established for themselves.

The University maintains a helpful website for gift planning that you or your professional advisor may investigate discretely. The website, www.hartford.edu/plannedgiving, features donor testimonials, suggested bequest language, and legislative updates. Our gift calculator allows you to estimate deductions and determine rates of payment for certain types of gift-planning arrangements under a variety of different circumstances.

If you have already planned a gift of this nature, we would much prefer to thank you now and recognize you for your generosity in advance! If you have not yet taken the relatively simple steps necessary to create an effective charitable gift plan, we hope you will want to follow the excellent example of the individuals named below.
