All gifts, regardless of size, are important and appreciated. We encourage you to please renew your support of the University of Hartford today.

The anchor has been a cornerstone at the front of campus for the past 51 years, representing history, tradition, and many memorable times for our alumni and current students.

The anchor belonged to the U.S.S. Hartford, the flagship of Admiral David G. Farragut. The ship was pressed into service during the Civil War battle of Mobile Bay. The U.S. Navy bequeathed the anchor to the University because alumni had served in the Armed Forces. It has since become a colorful and symbolic icon on campus.

Random House Dictionary defines an anchor as something that can be relied on for support, stability, or security. We believe that this is an excellent representation of what the Annual Fund does for the University of Hartford. It is for this reason that the Annual Fund has been renamed the Anchor Fund.
