ENHP Welcomes 2017 New Faculty

Thilagha Jagaiah

Thilagha Jagaiah

Assistant Professor of Special Education

The first thing I learned about ENHP is the core belief of the college, “People First” which explains the camaraderie I noticed between colleagues even in a very short period of time. I knew this means I would get the support to be innovative, efficient, and productive in my instructional practices, research, and services at the department. This has led to me to treat my students in the same manner to ensure they are successful in their programs.

Students at ENHP are educated in racially and ethnically diverse settings. As a special educator, and coming from a linguistically and culturally diverse background, ENHP provides me the platform to embrace diversity in the courses I teach. Such an opportunity affords me to prepare and challenge my students to interact effectively with students in diverse school settings and develop important skills in cross-cultural competence. Their training will enable them to be more effective teachers.
